As I continue on this journey of learning how to get more traffic to my sites, now it’s time to concentrate on getting more likes to my Facebook Fan Page.
I started this journey in November of 2010 but I didn’t put up my Fan Page until February 20th of this year. I know, I drug my feet for way too long.
I did actually get 29 fans in less than five day though so that was exciting. Most of those came from my Facebook friends because I posted on my wall that I had just created my page and really could use their support.
From there I started asking my readers to like my page and I also visited Facebook groups within my niche. I would select different people and send them a personal message letting them know what my page was about, what I was sharing and that I would appreciate their support. My likes continued to slowly grow.
So just a little over a week ago I stumbled upon a Facebook group where the gentleman was doing an experiment to see if he could get 1,000 likes to his Fan Page within 90 days. Just a few days into this group he reported that he had hit 1,016 fans in as little as 29 days. Want to know how he did it? That’s exactly what I’m going to show you in this video.

Thanks for sharing Adrienne. Just put this into practice last night and have 30 fan page likes for my PLR site this morning. Now I can customize my fan page URL I believe.

Everybody wants to get more likes on their facebook fan page and its been a practice to evolve more methods for doing so. However what I see as the basic underlying fact is that your audience should like you, and I guess everyone would agree with it.

You are right Anthony, your audience should like you but they also want fans too. Fortunately for me, a lot of the people who first started liking my page are friends of mine. That was helpful to say the least. I always appreciate the support.

OK, so it’s sort of like a traffic exchange but where you click on other sites to earn points you like Facebook pages or Youtube to earn seeds so that others will do the same for you. Not a bad idea, one that I think I can use for my next project.

*I use it last month and write some review on what I think about it in my april monthly report.
Around 10-20% of the likes not really last, cause people will unlike afterward, and the increasing of traffic is .. none.
So the only benefits I found is the increase of likes as a social proof to the public.

I’m with you Jia, I’ve seen this program around but I hadn’t taken the time to research it. So once I did and started seeing some results then I wrote my post.
You are absolutely right too! The benefit I get from this is the social proof. Now once everyone starts learning this and understanding how this works, that might fly right out the window but until then I’m sticking with it.

I absolutely loved these resources, Adrienne! I had just heard about Twiends a couple weeks back and found that there was a high drop-out rate — i.e., a lot of unfollows and unlikes! I was able to slow the drop-out rate by being in contact with all the new people I was getting in touch with! I made sure to send a personal message to every person who followed me on my Facebook page (I focused my Twiends seeds on this) to ask if I could support their website too.

Luckily for me, I haven’t seen a drop off of fans yet. I have been having problems with them connecting to Facebook the last several times I’ve been in there though. That’s the only problem I have had but other than that, it’s usually working quite well. But if you have the time to visit every single site and send them a personal message, bravo to you girl. I applaud you for taking the time to do that. But that’s a great idea for down the road for me.
There are some really wonderful people in this group and them helping out liking your page is an added bonus. I think you’ll enjoy it!

I recently wrote a blog post about engagement like this…it’s fake really isn’t it? Yes, you may be getting relevant followers/fans, but they’re liking/following you primarily because of the incentive provided aren’t they? Not because they find true value in what you have offer. In the same way that Google values an organic one-way inbound link more than anything else, I think that holds true in for social media engagement too.
I understand the concept and I have no problem with it, but I think it holds less value to you than fans/followers you acquire genuinely and organically.
I agree with you to an extent Will but let’s face it. How many people legitimately “like” fan pages and interact with those people, visit them often and correspond with them? Honestly? From my personal experience, not many at all and I know a LOT of people. People who have fan pages, although they would like you to remain on them and eventually purchase what they have since most of them are business related, but that’s not always the case.
So although your theory is how it should be, it’s not how it actually is. The more fans you have, the more people view you as someone who knows what they are doing which in their eyes makes you more attractive. Bottom line!

I was having some problems too. For some reason, trying to connect Facebook with the Safari browser seems to take forever but with Google Chrome I usually get through. Try another browser and see if that helps.

We have definitely seen an increase in interest in our business. I have seen people make it and break it so far this year. It can be a testing time for some but fortunately our team is growing stronger than ever.

Yours is really simple and I would try it once I get more time for my Facebook page. I have made the page but hasn’t given it much attention so I only have 16 likes then it stopped at that.

I know the feeling Dorcas, always having to sign in to something to get more information. Great marketing tactic, that I know for sure. But here I try to teach you as much as I know so glad you found this helpful. Unfortunately, this site just got a makeover and now have totally taken Facebook fan page likes off. Was really ticked to hear that but what are you going to do.
