Guest Posting: It's Time To ParticipateI have mentioned more than once on this blog that guest posting is another great source of generating traffic.  For those of you who may not be familiar with what guest posting is, it’s when you write a post for someone elses blog.

The way it first started was you had to be approached by the owner of the blog and asked to write a guest post.   Since this has become more and more popular, a lot of blog owners have created a page specifically geared toward guest posting.

All you do is read the guidelines they have outlined for you, write a post, submit it to the blog owner, sit back, keep your fingers crossed and hope it will be accepted.

So what are the benefits to writing posts for other blogs?  First off, it sure can help bring more traffic to your blog.  The blog you are writing for may have a lot of quality traffic and they may have never heard of you.  You write a post and all of a sudden they are checking out your blog.  It also can benefit the owner because they are able to showcase other people on their blog and it also frees them up to do other things.  We all know writing posts can be very time consuming.

Guest posting is something I’ve been interested in but up until now, have not had the opportunity to actually do.

I have been considering guest posting but at the same time was pretty nervous about it.  You know, spilling your guts on your own blog is one thing but actually writing a piece for someone else is totally different.

Guest Posting: It's Time To ParticipateWhat A Pleasant Surprist

One day I received an email from Steve Roy of “Ending the Grind“.  His blog is on my list of ones I visit and of course you know I am going to comment on his posts.  He read one of my comments, hopped on over to my blog, read my “About Me” section and decided I might have something to share.

So he presented me with an invitation to write a guest post on his blog.  Tada…  My first one, I’m a very proud Mom…

Now the only downfall to this is of course he contacted me through my main blog, not this one.  So, this guest post will send traffic back to my main blog but hey, I’ve got to start somewhere right!  I haven’t been invited to write a guest post for anyone where I can send traffic to this blog, at least not yet.  I think once I get past my “fear” of this entire experience things will come much easier, or at least I pray they will.  Guess it depends on the types of comments I receive.

This is Where You Come In

That’s right, you guessed it.  This is where I ask you for your support.  Even though I’m sending you off to another site to check out my first guest post that is mainly set up to send people back to my main blog, I still appreciate your support.  I really in truly want your honest opinion.  And beware, I’m spilling my guts here…

You see, Steve’s blog is all about escaping the corporate world.  Some people have already accomplished it while others are still planning their escape.  This is one of the reasons I enjoy reading his blog.  I can relate to him and the other people who share their stores as well.  I’m sure you’ll be able to see some of you in them too!

Guest Posting: It's Time To ParticipateNow I know you guys probably think I’m crazy for closing the comments on this post but I really want to hear what you have to say on the actual post itself and I’m not going to make you come back over here and comment too.  I just appreciate you taking the time to read this post and then jump over there and read my “first guest post” too!

So thank you, thank you, thank you everyone.  Your opinions and comments are SO appreciated.  You guys are the best!!!

Finally Living For Me

Can’t wait to read what you think…  I’m sitting on pens and needles over here.  :-)
