Next Step is Free Giveaways

On March 18, 2011, in Affiliate Marketing, by Adrienne

Next Step is Free GiveawaysI’ve covered a LOT of ground so far since creating this blog back in late November.  Although I have only written 20 posts, I shared with you at the very beginning that I would be posting about what I am doing each week, what I have learned, what traffic generation methods I have incorporated and then at the end of each month I’ve shared my results.

When I started this journey of learning how to build a successful affiliate marketing business, I told myself I was going to be open and honest with everyone about what I’m doing.  I wanted to write about what it really takes and to prove to anyone reading my blog that with consistent effort, you too can start making sales your very first month.

My February results were even better than my January, which of course, is always the goal.  To see what I’ve accomplished so far, be sure to read my post “Drum Roll Please… My February Rocked!“.  I include screen shots of my traffic results, split testing of my squeeze pages and how many opt-ins I’ve received so far.  I even tell you how many sales I’ve made and I’m proud of each one of those little darlin’s…

So the first step of this journey consisted of getting my product in place and creating this blog.  The next step was to start driving traffic to both of these sites, get some people downloading my free information and then making some sales.  As of toady, I have 82 people on my list but now it’s time to step it up.  That’s right, the next step is implementing free giveaways.

Next Step is Free GiveawaysSo what the heck are free giveaways and how do you get started!  Free giveaways are when you are giving away free things like reports, eBooks, software, audios and even video series.  I’m sticking with free eBooks for now until I get my feet wet and have a few of these under my belt.

The first thing you need to do is find some information to giveaway.  You can start by grabbing some free PLR information or you can spend a little money and purchase a few as well.

One free PLR site that came highly recommended is “PLR Wholesaler“.  If you decide to buy a few, and trust me we aren’t talking a lot of money, my favorite site is The PLR Store.   Ron Killian runs this one and he’s always eager to help.

Another site I’ve used is Resale Enterprises but some of their information is pretty outdated.  Just be sure to really look at the information and see the year it was created before you purchase.  I made that mistake once and I learned my lesson.

If you do use PLR information there are two things you need to be aware of.

  1. Be sure to read the rights of the products to make sure you can change the content, the cover and put your own name on as the author; and
  2. I highly recommend having a new cover created.  Promoting something that everyone else is using is never good.  I always head over to my trusty old Fiverr.com and get one done for me for only $5.  I’ve had some really great work done for me over there.

Next Step is Free GiveawaysI have worked with one guy over at Fiverr who has created some report covers for me and he also writes PLR reports.  They are new, fresh and updated content.  None of that rehashed stuff so this is always another option.  You can just hire someone to write you a brand new fresh report.  You just can’t beat it for $5.

Besides Fiverr, there are a few other sites where you can purchase the same type of information for really cheap.  Here are a just a few that I’m aware of:

You want to be sure to add your URL’s to the information you are giving away and then whatever service you use when joining giveways, you will also have your affiliate links in case people purchase other products presented to them in those giveaways.  It’s really a win win situation.

One other tip I’ll share real quick is if you don’t have a word processing program on your computer, you can always use OpenOffice for free.  Not only can you edit your report, but you can also save it as a PDF and you have the option that no one can change any of the content on your report.  It’s a great program and free to use.

The main goal with joining free giveaways is to get more people on your list.   The more people that join your list, the more sales you will eventually make.

One of the services I joined is called Push Button Giveaways.  It’s totally free and you can always upgrade if you decide you want even more options from this service.  That is totally up to you.

I also found a site that is free called “The Giveaway Announcer“.  It’s fully automated and will do “most” of the work for you.  You see I said most because we ALL know that no product will do all the work for you so I’m not even going to try and pull your leg on this one.  But, it’s still a pretty cool program!

Next Step is Free GiveawaysI’m just getting started with this one or I would have more to share with you.  You can always go to Google and type in “join free giveaways” and see what else may pop up.  I have found a lot of information to be very out dated.

The whole purpose of this is to give away good valuable information, never any junk, and then have people also interested in your own free information.  That will then get them on your list and hopefully they will end up buying from you.  If not and they go with another product you have on your giveaway lists, you also make a commission.  Makes sense to me!

I’m WAY behind with implementing this.  I should have done it toward the end of February but I’ve been so busy trying to get traffic to my site.  I do hope to have some very positive results to share with you in my March update after getting this one really going.  So, stay tuned for that post in another couple of week.

Before I Go…

I have one more really cool thing I want to share with you before I wrap this post up since it kind of relates to free giveaways.

If you already have a free report to share or you’ve put together a list of something you want to share with your blog readers, create a button through “CloudFlood” so that in order for them to access this information they first have to either retweet your information on Twitter or share it on Facebook.  That really gets the word out and other people interested in what you have to offer.

I did this on my main blog and shared with everyone a list of all the blogs I visit now.  People are always searching for blogs to comment on so I’ve gotten a really good response from this and I only posted it a few days ago.

If you’d like to check out my post and also grab my free list called “42 Blogs Worth Mentioning” you’ll be able to see exactly what I’m talking about.  Now that particular list are the blogs I visit and comment on that send traffic to my main blog.  I haven’t created a list for all the blogs I visit that send traffic to this blog.  Yep, I keep these totally separate so you can see why I’m a very busy lady!

So that wraps up this week’s post and hope this one was helpful.  Don’t discard this now because we all know people love to get their hands on free information.  I know I do and I fall for it every darn time.  So grab you some free reports, get a new cover created, join some giveaways and get going.

Just another great source of driving traffic to your site and eventually making sales.

Hope this has been helpful and PLEASE don’t forget to comment.  I know some of you have other giveaway sites that you may be using so don’t be bashful.  Share away because you know I appreciate you!  My readers rock!

  1. Hi Adrienne,

As soon as I saw giveaways mentioned I was going to come and comment on keiths site…. But you already have it listed…lol
    :)

I also checked out your pdf 42 blogs worth visiting (Shocked that I didn’t see Sally Neill get a mention there!!) ;)

But what’s MORE worth commenting is the way you delivered it….
Can we expect a post divulging how you set all that up??
That would be valuable to most of your readers I suspect?

      Hey Randy,

YOU don’t have anything to add to my post? I’m surprised. I knew you would have plenty to offer since I’m just getting started with this method. I’m sure there are some giveaway sites you have used that I know nothing about! :-)

Well, like I mentioned in the post… Those are the blogs I visit for my main blog. I have a totally separate list I visit for this blog. Sally’s on this list but of course, I haven’t created one for my New Super Affiliate Blog. At least not yet. I didn’t really intend to include my other post but then I thought, they are going to want to see what I’m talking about so thought I would include it. Didn’t want people to think I now want them commenting on both of my blogs. But that’s totally up to the individual!

I’ll have to do a video showing people how to set that up. It’s really easy and a really neat concept.

Thank you Randy for mentioning this and I always enjoy seeing you my friend. You just gave me some more ideas and I was going to shoot some videos today as a matter of fact. Guess I have another one to add to that list thanks to you.

      Have an awesome day!

Good for you, can’t wait to see what you do with this. Thanks for your visit..

  3. Hey Adrienne

As always i can hear the excitment in your writing. It’s great to know that you are still enjoying the journey so far. I’m sure you are going to love your learning in the giveaways. I know i am.

Looking forward to your update. :)

    Keep up the good work

      Hi Kerry,

Oh girl, I love learning new things. I know you have yours all set up so I hope you’ve been having a lot of response from them. I am just so behind with implementing some of the next steps. It’s just finding that extra time to actually go through the training and then start taking action. There aren’t enough hours in the day as it is. But, better late than never and I’m still getting a steady flow of traffic and sales so I’m not complaining. Hope all is working out for you as well.

Thanks for stopping by and you know you’ll be hearing from me again next week. Take are.

Best of luck building your list :)

I most definitely will. So far I can tell you I have had several people grab my list so have received a LOT of mentions on Twitter. Hoping that my list in itself will also help others find other blogs to visit so it’s a win win for all where that is concerned. But will give everyone an update soon on how things are going with Cloudflood.

Thank you for your comment and as always, it’s very much appreciated.

So glad you are able to take something new away from this post. Have fun with Cloudflood!

  6. Hi Adrienne… I REALLY like the CloudFlood idea. I’ve seen it being used on other sites, but I didn’t know exactly what it was. I think I’ll split test it against my current opt in form to see which one gets the better conversion. Like Sarah said, I can’t wait to see your results. (Because you know how big I am on testing stuff!)

I appreciate your comment Janet, thank you so much. I’m one of the me most open and honest people you’ll ever meet. I actually think that hurts me at times but I can’t be any other way. I don’t have that in me I guess. I love sharing what I’m doing to build my business and I know it really helps others to see what all is involved. With each step I take, I’m sharing exactly what I’m doing which is why some of my posts are rather long. Just appreciate you hanging in there with me.

Looking forward to doing the same with you Janet. Thanks again for stopping by.

  8. Hey Adrienne,

It is always exciting to be honest and naked (;)). You tell people what you do exactly for your success rather than keeping a “secret” and then later on selling that “secret” to make money.

Well you have given some interesting resources here – a couple of items go to my to-do list 1. Gigbucks and 2. Couldfood.

You have given food for my thought, items to my list and woo! I have got some work to do.

Seriously a great post and I am tweeting it now.

wordpress, static sites, tools both types need. something like that. to long for one book.

I saw your feb traffic stats. It is great that you are only competing with your self and not competing with the other sites in the same niche.

my end goal is to beat my 30 day rolling average of unique hits. on a daily basis. I think I had 817 hits in the last 30 days. hopefully today is higher.

  20. Hi Adrienee, Kathy Dobson has just created a manual that lists al of the ‘jobs for sale at low cost’ sites, together with details of how much each site charges. Obviously those you have mentioned in here are there but she also updates every month to keep it fresh. It’s a brilliant little book for finding someone to get a specific task done. Some sites even concentrate solely on IM so you don’t have to trawl through non related ads first.

    Enjoy the journey.
