Traffic Update Here I Come!
So my last decent report on how my traffic was doing to my site was back on the 23rd of December. In my last post I admitted falling down on the job and basically taking a week off with the holidays here. I couldn’t get my articles approved and had hardly any visitors to my site so it was really hard to get motivated. That just gave me the excuse to finish my training site, which I did by the way. Yeah me!!!
Article Marketing:
So with this post I’ve got some pretty good reports to share. I have still been writing an article a day and posting them to EZine Articles, ArticlesBase and GoArticles religiously. Have gotten some really great views from them as well. I’m social bookmarking each one as well as pinging them so don’t forget that when you are trying to let the search engines know they are now online.
Social Media:
Regularly doing my social media stuff like posting to Facebook and Twitter daily, adding new friends, building new relationships that sort of stuff. I won’t be redundant and repeat all of that to you as well but it’s part of how I’m driving traffic to my site so don’t want to leave that out cause it’s important.
The other method I had mentioned I was checking out a few weeks ago was website directories but that ended up just being more of a royal pain to be honest with you. If you don’t get them in the correct category they won’t accept your link and man it’s hard to get the exact one when it pertains to affiliate marketing. After a while I just gave up. So sorry about that one guys.
Blog Commenting:
I’ve been upping my game with the blog commenting and wanted to share my little tip with you. We all know that you want to really concentrate on commenting on “do-follow” links so there are numerous ways to go about finding those. But the one thing I’ve been doing is going to Google Alerts and then typing in my specific keyword for what I want to rank for. Then in the “Type” section I put in blogs. I schedule that for once a day and then when my notice comes in, I visit each blog and if they have “do-follow” links, I comment.
Just in case you aren’t familiar with how you can tell, I’ll share with you a great little tool that comes in real handy. If you are using FireFox, download the Quirk add-on and you can grab that by clicking here. It’s free and you just download it and then you’ll have to restart your browser.
Once you have that installed there will be an icon at the bottom of your browser and just right click on that. Just click on “Highlight NoFollow Links” and they will show up in pink. That’s the best way to find out if you are wasting your time on a particular site or not. There are other ways too but I have found that they find really old posts and those won’t do you any good so why even bother.
My Stats:
So the week I basically took off, I actually had 34 new visitors to my site although no one opted in. But last week I had 41 new visitors with 2 more opt-ins. Not too terribly shabby for not doing too much work and it being the holidays. I’m not complaining because I’m back at it and going full steam ahead. I hope to report several more sales by my next post so stay tuned.
My Free Training Site:
I had mentioned earlier that I finished my training site and now have that live and ready for your viewing pleasure. So if you need some help with things like how to install a WordPress blog, how to purchase a domain name and forward to your affiliate link or hosting account, how to get around in your hosting account and why you need one, how to create squeeze pages, how to edit videos, all of that sort of stuff, this site will definitely benefit you. It’s nowhere near finished but I’ve only been working on it in my spare time so stay tuned for more to come. Anyway, you can access that at:
http://www.homebusinessbasictraining.com
Okay, hope you are working on your content as well and getting your information out there for all to see. Remember to keep generating that content each day and be patient. Your traffic will take some time to pick up but it will pick up. Don’t get discouraged because these things take time. Trust me, I know…
Okay guys, let me know how you are doing and if you have any traffic secrets to share as well. Always anxious to learn more and will continue to report on my progress.

Hi Adrienne
Well done on the traffic you are doing great!
I wonder could you maybe explain more how you ping the articles once they are live, that would be really helpful for myself and your other readers I am sure.
The blog hop tips are great I have been using them too, will no doubt chase you all around the blogs, race ya!

Hey Alex,
Thanks for your comment but I’m not doing as well as I would like. Am fixing to implement some other techniques as well so will be reporting my results soon.
Am thinking of doing some videos next regarding some of the things that I’ve been doing so will keep in mind the pinging that you mentioned. Appreciate you letting me know. Want to make life easier for all my readers…
Haven’t run into you yet on other blogs but I have a feeling it’s just a matter of time!!! LOL!!!
Thanks Alex,
Adrienne
Hi Adrienne, video tutorials are a great idea, I think you should be on that for sure! Then you can submit them all over the place for lots more traffic.
Look forward to watching them, Alex.

Hi Adrienne,
Your traffic looks fairly steady. A good little trick is to take the RSS feeds from your sites ie, Ezine,You Tube or whatever you are using, ping them using pingler and then submit them to the RSS Directories. This can give a real boost, you only need to do it once, then every time you update the RSS feeds will be updated. I get quite a lot of traffic from this.
Hope this helps.

Hey Pete,
Well aren’t you a sweetheart for sharing that tip with me. Thank you so much.
As you can tell, this is my journey of building up my business and I wanted to share my experience with everyone as I go. Have been doing really well so far but can always use that bit of boost in traffic. I really appreciate your tip and again, thank you so much for that. This is why I love this industry and the people involved. You visit someone’s blog, read their awesome content, make a comment and others will check you out. The majority of the people I’ve met have been so helpful and nice which just makes my heart smile so much. Man I love this industry!
Thanks again Pete. Will let you know how that goes.
Adrienne
Apart from blog commenting I don’t do all that much when it comes to getting traffic. I’ve only ever submitted one article to Ezines, I should pull my finger out where that’s concerned.
As to web directories, I have one called CoolBlogLinks which is a PR3 site. The only problem is to be a member you have to place a small code on your blog which will display a little icon on your blog. This seems to put a lot of people off.
Feel free to remove that link if you feel I’ve overstepped the boundary by putting it there

Wow Sire, maybe I need to do MORE blog commenting. I’m trying to get more involved but it’s very time consuming. I tend to read everyone’s posts but I do enjoy learning what other people are doing.
I enjoy writing which is why I have been writing articles. Of course, I have all of my blogs too which is what keeps me pretty busy.
Don’t worry about the web directory link. Hey, I appreciate you letting me know! Was just really overwhelmed at all the work that was involved with that so any tips are very much appreciated.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Hi Adrienne, great content, this is something that I determined to improve this year so was interested in your comments about web directories, have also signed up to your training course. Great looking blog.

Thanks Rob, I appreciate that. I just like to tell it like it is and hopefully some of my experiences or things I’ve tried will benefit others.
Was totally bummed about the web directories. Wow, what a lot of time just trying to figure the right categories to place your links. Was told they can help move your site up in the search engines but you’ve got to post to a lot of directories to accomplish that.
Hope my training site helps you even if it’s in some small way. It’s geared more toward the basics of things but I do love helping others learn. Would love your input.
Thanks for stopping by,
Adrienne
Hi Adrienne,
Thanks very much for visiting my blog and leaving a wonderful comment.
I only got it going a few days ago and still need to do a lot of work on it.
I am having a problem loading the banner ads and the RSS feeds.Any advice would be most welcome.
You have some really good content on your blog which I intend to make full use of and I will making frequent visits to keep up with your news.
Good luck with your Internet Marketing business

Thanks John, I appreciate your comment and for visiting my blog as well. I love it when I find blogs that are informational, helpful and have such great content to share.
Those banner ads can be tricky so those are a little harder to explain. Not an expert with the RSS feeds so sorry about that. Which I could be of more help.
Glad to hear that you will be making a return visit. Thought this blog might be more helpful with keeping people informed of my progress and what action steps I’m taking toward while on my journey as an affiliate marketer.
Thanks a bunch,
Adrienne
Hi Adrienne, All effective suggestions concerning traffic – it’s just one of those ongoing things. We find we have met some wonderful folk while driving traffic – it’s a bit like going to a party and meeting tons of new people.
best regards Allan and Dawn
Thanks you two… Great way to look at that for sure.
Hi Adrienne,
Just installed the quirk addon for firefox, cool tool, thanks for sharing that with us, will save me posting on a bundle of no follow blogs, the time saved will in the long term be coutless hours so thanks again for that.
I used a directory submission site for another site of mine a while back and it was quite good for link backs but to do it yourself is as you said a right pain in the butt.
There are so many traffic methods I’m seeing now that i never used before that I will definitely be looking to outsource in the future when the pennies start to flow.
I’ve signed up to your free training site and I’ll check it out when I get the chance…
Thanks again for the great helpful post,
Robert

Hey Robert,
You are going to love the Quirk addon. As you probably notices, it does a whole lot more than just highlight the nofollow links. It does save a lot of time.
I hope to be outsourcing some of that tedious work myself in the future. Like you, need to wait until the income gets to the level I’m comfortable with.
Hope you find the training site helpful. I’m constantly working on it and hope to improve it as I go along. That’s my first shot at something like that. So please let me know if there are any areas that need some vast improvements.
Appreciate your comment and look forward to seeing your results as we go along this journey together.
Have a great day!

Hi Adrienne,
Looks like you are doing a great job! I never thought to ping my articles, thanks for the tip.
My first article at EZA was not approved yesterday, came as a complete shock and I didn’t really understand why especially since all the others went through just fine. There was nothing wrong with the article, but my anchor links or something. I guess the person reading my article didn’t like it maybe? That used to happen when I was a demand studios freelance writer, turned me off and never went back.
But, I do realize the importance of having my articles at EZA, so I will just keep chugging along, but I am running out of ideas to write about and same with my blog posts *sigh*.
And my other problem is I have no idea where to find blogs to comment on. One day I will get it, I am sure
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Linda recently posted..For Technorati Only – Please Ignore
Hey Linda,
Glad you picked up a tip from my info, that’s always nice to hear. I’ve had my articles rejected from time to time as well. Something about the wording not right or similar content someone else wrote about. I just repaired whatever was wrong and it was eventually accepted. They just have strict guidelines at EZine Articles but that’s where I’m getting the majority of my traffic from so I’ll never throw my hands up with them.
As far as ideas to write about, what are some concerns you have or want to learn about pertaining to what you are doing? Search for those terms on Google and see what other people are sharing. That is a great way to get ideas.
As far as the blog commenting, here are a couple of ideas. First go to the FTM forum and click on “New Members Area”. Go to the post that says “”List your blog site here”. There are other students that you need to review their posts and comment on them as well. We are here to support one another on this journey. I also ran across Tristan’s blog last week called “Blogging Bookshelf” and he has listed some blogs that he believes are worth checking out and leaving comments on. It’s a great way to start interacting with others in this industry. You can find that post at Blog Directory.
Hope those tips helped you as well. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend yourself and a productive week next week.

Congratz on finishing your training site Adrienne
And wow, writing an article a day seems like too much work! How could you keep up with that while still maintaining your blog and your training website?!
Oh, and thanks for the Google Alerts tip, seems like a pretty good way to get do-follow backlinks relevant to your website

Hey Amr,
Thanks for that my friend, I’m pretty thrilled. Still have lots to do.
Well, I’m a planner so I plan what I’m doing for the day and I just get it accomplished. It does seem like a lot but you eventually get it all down. I am working on the training site in my spare time which is why it’s not complete. It is a lot of work.
Yeah, sometimes I have luck with Alerts and other times not so much. You need to check out Tristen’s “Blogging Bookshelf” site. He just recently wrote about how to find good blogs to comment on. Great post!
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll have to visit your site. Have a wonderful weekend.
